FD & C and D & C Colorants
Snowdrift Farm offers FDC and DC colors in dry format. We recommend mixing these dry colorants with water, glycerin or propylene glycol in a bottle or jar before use in a recipe for best results. Dissolve the colorant in a little bit of water before adding to glycerine or propylene glycol. Label with colorant measurement/s and diluent and shake well before each use.

Ultramarines, Oxides and Pigments
Snowdrift Farm offers these pigment colors in dry format. We recommend mixing these dry colorants with castor oil with a mortar & pestle before use in a recipe for best results. Use a glass mortar to avoid color transfer from using porous ceramic mortars Label with colorant measurement/s if you store it for use later.
Add coloants to products slowly and blend well before adding more to ensure that you get the correct shade. Titanium dioxide can be added to any colorant to transform it into a pastel color. Use titanium dioxide to whiten soap base mix to enhance the color of the swirled soap. |
